Unaccompanied Minors

You may book an Unaccompanied Minor reservation by calling Vision Airlines at 877-359-2538.
Our Call Center Agents will assist you in answering questions regarding your child’s travel on
Vision Airlines. For complete information, please refer to Vision Airlines’ Contract of Carriage.

Unaccompanied Minor Service is required for all children 5 – 12 years old when not
traveling with an adult at least 13 years old or the child’s parent/legal guardian. A
$100.00, non refundable, Unaccompanied Minor (UNMR) Fee (each way) is due when booking the child’s flight.

  • Children under the age of 5 are not permitted to travel on Vision Airlines as an
    Unaccompanied Minor;
  • Children 5 – 12 years may fly on nonstop or direct flights only;
  • Children 13 – 17 are not required to have Unaccompanied Minor Service, but the service is
    available upon request (Unaccompanied Minor Fee applies).

The adult checking-in the Unaccompanied Minor shall be required to provide at check-in:

  • Government Issued Identification (e.g.: driver’s license, passport);
  • Address as shown on identification;
  • Phone number – number provided to agent will be used for contact in case of any changes
    and as an emergency contact;
  • The Name and Telephone number of the adult picking up the Unaccompanied Minor at the
  • An alpha-numeric pass-code.

The adult picking up the Unaccompanied Minor shall be required to provide at the
destination airport:

  • Government Issued Identification (e.g.: driver’s license, passport);
  • Address as shown on identification;
  • The alpha-numeric pass-code.

Unaccompanied Minor Tips and Information

It is Vision Airlines’ goal to provide safe, reliable and comfortable travel for children traveling
alone. Please review the following tips and information to make your child’s travel easier.

  • Keep carry-on baggage to a minimum;
  • Attach identification and contact information on the outside and inside of carry-on and checked
  • Provide your child with entertainment materials;
  • Inform the agent at time of booking and at the airport of any special needs your child may
    have during travel;
  • Inform your child not to leave the aircraft or gate area unless accompanied by a Vision Airlines
    uniformed and badged personnel;
  • If there has been a change in your child’s itinerary en-route, an agent will contact you to
    advise you of the change;
  • Vision Airlines will not administer any medication to an Unaccompanied Minor unless written
    permission has been delivered by the parent/guardian to Vision Airlines.


Children who are between fourteen (14) days old and under the age of two (2) years old will not
be charged if they do not occupy a seat and are accompanied by a fare-paying passenger.
Proof of age, such as birth certificate is required.

Each fare-paying passenger is allowed to take a stroller or a car seat to the boarding area. The
stroller or car seat may also be checked at the time of check-in. If the stroller or car seat is
taken to the gate, it may be “Gate Checked” for stowage in the cargo hold of the aircraft. In
such case it will be available gate side upon reaching the aircraft’s final destination.

When one adult travels with two infants, the adult passenger may only hold one infant. An
additional seat must be purchased for the 2nd infant.

Child Restraint Systems

A child restraint system (CRS) will be accepted for transportation in the Passenger cabin ONLY
if the restraint system bears the approved label stating “approved for automotive and aviation.”

No other CRS can be brought on board the aircraft cabin. No CRS can be stowed beneath the
seat or in an overhead compartment and must be checked. Only the government approved CRS
with approved aviation tag can be used for takeoff, during flight and for landing. There is no fee
to check a car seat or CRS as checked baggage.

Exit Seats and Children

Children or adults with children under the age of 15 may not be seated in an exit seat.

Pregnant Travelers

Vision Airlines recommends that pregnant passengers consult a physician before flying. Keep in
mind that ticket change fees and penalties will not be waived for pregnancy.

Traveling with Pets in Cabin

Many pets are permitted in the cabin during Vision Airlines’ flights, including dogs, cats
and household birds. Call Vision Airlines at 877-359-2538 to arrange to bring your pet
onboard. A one-way Pet in Cabin Fee of $50.00 and the following restrictions apply:

  • The pet must be at least 8 weeks old;
  • The pet counts as one piece of carry-on baggage;
  • The total weight of your pet and carrier may not exceed 20 lbs;
  • The pet must remain inside the kennel (with door secured) while in the Vision Airlines boarding
    area, during boarding and deplaning, and while onboard the aircraft;
  • The kennel or carrier must fit under the seat and remain there at all times;
  • The kennel or carrier must not exceed the following dimensions: 10" high by 14" wide
    and 18" deep. Cloth/Canvas carriers are preferred over hard plastic carriers.;
  • The kennel or carrier must be a FAA approved kennel/carrier;
  • Customers traveling with pets may not be seated in exit rows or in the bulkhead seats.

Two pets of the same type may be allowed in one kennel, for example two dogs or two cats.
The pets must be small enough to fit in one kennel, be compatible and of the same species, and
weigh less than 20 pounds total. They will be charged as one pet.

Government Requirements for Pet Travel

Some states require a health certificate for your pet. You can contact your veterinarian, the US
Department of Agriculture at 800 545-8732, or the Department of Agriculture in the state that
you are traveling to for more information.

International Pet Travel

If you are planning to travel with your pet on an international flight, contact the embassy or
consulate of the destination country to determine pet travel regulations. You must obtain any
and all necessary paperwork (such as health certificates and documentation) regarding your
pet’s travel. Also:

  • Check with your veterinarian to ensure your pet is in compliance with foreign health
  • Check with the CDC about the importation of importing pets into the United States;
  • Check with APHIS about international animal export regulations.

Pets as Checked Baggage

Vision Airlines will not accept your pet as checked baggage on a scheduled flight.
