Vision History
Vision Airlines started in Las Vegas, NV in 1994 with one 9-seat Piper Chieftain aircraft. Vision Airlines’ founders had spent more than 15 years in the airline, jet charter and Grand Canyon tour industries in Las Vegas and felt there was a need for a company dedicated to safety and customer service. This “Vision” led to rapid growth of the company and by 1998, the company was operating more than 16 Piper Chieftains.
However, part of the “Vision” was to offer the safest, most reliable tour products so Vision’s senior management made the decision to switch its fleet to the more reliable 19 and 30 passenger Dornier turboprop aircraft. Customer acceptance was overwhelming and Vision became the largest Grand Canyon tour company in Las Vegas. Additionally, with safety as the core value, Vision senior management made the decision to certify its flight operations to the highest safety standards from the FAA, Part 121 of the Federal Aviation Regulations.
Vision Airlines started its certification process with the 19-passenger Dornier 228. However, as demand grew during the certification process, Vision’s senior management made the strategic decision to switch aircraft types during its Part 121 certification process. Vision elected to certify with the Dornier 328, a 30-passenger turboprop aircraft that features the latest technology in avionics and aircraft systems.
Vision Airlines operates a fleet of Boeing 767’s, 737’s, Dornier 328 and Dornier 228 aircraft. This diverse mix of airplanes allows the company to provide customized solutions for its customers.
Vision Airlines has become one of the premier charter airlines in the United States. The company’s experience in domestic and international operations is widely recognized throughout the industry. The company has flown for US Presidential candidates, heads of state, countless celebrities and Fortune 500 companies. The company also flies routes between cities within the US and from the US to Cuba.
Vision Airlines has offices in Las Vegas, NV, Louisville, KY, Miami, FL, Atlanta, GA and Washington DC. Vision Airlines is poised to continue its growth well into the future. It is the company’s long-term goal to become THE gold standard charter airline in the United States.
